All Dogs & Cats In Our Program Receive:
Vaccinations:
All of our puppies under 6 months of age have a minimum of 2 boosters (DAPPV), bordatella and rabies vaccine if old enough, prior to transport.
All of our kittens have at least 1 feline distemper (FVRCP) vaccine and rabies vaccine, if old enough, prior to transport.
Heart worm Testing:
All dogs over 6-7 months age are administered a heart worm test unless a veterinarian says otherwise. We only adopt out heart worm negative dogs. If a dog is positive, they will receive treatment in our care prior to adoption.
Preventions:
All of our dogs are given flea/tick and heart worm prevention upon intake. Capstar is administered on case by case basis.
All of our cats are given flea prevention upon arrival.
Capstar is administered on case by case basis.
They are kept current on their prevention during their duration of stay in our care.
FIV/FLV Testing:
Our kittens and cats are tested for feline aids and leukemia prior to adoption. If positive, it will be disclosed prior to adoption.
Deworming:
All of our cats and dogs are given multiple treatments of dewormer prior to adoption. We treat for hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, and tapeworms.
Note: Many dewormers do not kill all eggs, so it is recommended to continue dewormer in puppies until a certain age. Please ask your veterinarian more details.
Microchip:
All of our animals are microchipped prior to adoption.
Spay and Neuter:
Any animal over 6 months of age will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. If under that age, a spay and neuter contract will be required before finalizing an adoption.
Health Certificate:
All of our animals see a licensed Veterinarian for a health certificate before they are transported. A health certificate is given after a veterinarian has examined and deemed the animal to be visibly free of infectious disease & is safe to travel across state lines.
Adoption Process and Fees
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application. Be sure to be thorough, honest & read each section carefully. Once submitted, your application is reviewed by one of volunteers, your references and veterinarian will contacted & if we have further questions, a volunteer will reach out.
If your application is approved, you'll be notified, if you selected a pet already that you're interested in, a volunteer will set up a consultation with you to be sure that pet is a good fit for your lifestyle or will suggest other options that are a better match.
Once a pet or two have been selected as possible matches, you have the option to do a video chat with the animal and foster, that way you can meet, interact, & ask questions.
If you decide you do wish to adopt that animal, then you'll recieve our adoption contract, read this carefully, it contains our terms & conditions for adopting one of the pets in our program.
After signing your contract and submitting it digitally, you'll need to send in your adoption donations. These are non refundable,as they are immediately used to cover the care for the next animal in need. These donations help to cover food, vaccines, toys, treats, dewormer, health certificates, veterinary visits, and many other essential needs.
Our adoption donations vary based on a pets age, medical history, length of time in our program, species & special needs.
